Kathy Boussard is a self-taught artist who excels in the dynamics of weaving vibrant hues and prominent strokes into impressionistic and abstract designs.  Her palette is bold and intense; unusual tools create both soft and hard surfaces.  Distinguished for her thick textures and impasto technique, her depictions appear to raise off the canvas giving the viewer a three-dimensional illusion.  Her objet d’art is all in the myriad of details she incorporates into her paintings, ink line drawings and collage works. Look closely to capture her intricate style.

The artist grew up near the Teton Range of the Rocky Mountains in Montana, graduated from the University of Washington and after careers in education and corporate management, retired to the beautiful Skagit Valley in Washington.

As an emerging abstract artist, Boussard uses her spontaneity to create an emotional experience for the viewer – from passionate to nostalgic.  Her desire is to lift the barriers between realism and fantasy in order to view the world as a magical and fluid adventure.
